After last year’s hiatus, many thought that the Candlelight Processional might be on the chopping block for good, but those rumors may have been premature. Disney has announced that the Candlelight Processional will return to EPCOT this year, on select nights between November 26 through December 30 as part of the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.
For those who have never seen the show, the Candlelight Processional is a very moving performance that takes place in the America Gardens Theatre that includes a live orchestra, cast choir, and celebrity narrator the retelling the traditional Christmas story.
Although celebrity hosts haven’t been announced and, when they are, will be subject to change in this dynamic world, we know that the Candlelight Processional will feature many returning favorites as well as the music and pageantry that fans love in this classic retelling of the Christmas story.
One change that will be taking place for this year though is that since all these performers, including Cast Members, musicians, singers, and narrators, will be required to be fully vaccinated, this year there will not be the presence of choirs from different community groups and schools. Instead, the Cast Member choir will be expanded for this year’s performances. Guest choirs are expected to return next year.
In addition, Disney did share that they would be reintroducing Candlelight Processional Dining Packages, but did not share any additional information. We’ll share that with you when we learn it, as well as who will be narrating this year’s performances.
