Summary
Regal Eagle is substantial improvement over its predecessor, the burgers-and-fries Liberty Inn. Still, none of this barbecue is going to win any awards - it's nothing at all like the meats you'll find at even average restaurants in the areas represented here. Prepare to slather sauces on what can be dry, somewhat tough cuts.
Setting and Atmosphere
An enclosed, colonial-style patio serves as the main dining area here, with outdoor seating around a show-kitchen smoker when the weather is nice. Rolls of paper towels are set on every table, as required by barbecue law.
House Specialties
A salute to regional American barbecue, with North Carolina pulled pork, Texas brisket, and Memphis ribs. Because Memphis got ribs, Kansas City's representation is smoked chicken. South Carolina's entry is smoked sausage. Four barbecue sauces are also available. For dessert we love the banana pudding.
Other Recommendations
Vegans and vegetarians can choose from the Power Greens Salad with citrus, sunflower seeds, cranberries, and radish (ask for it without the chicken); or the BBQ Jackfruit Burger, a plant-based burger topped with barbecued jackfruit, which is supposed to taste like pork.
