25 Drinks of Christmas – Day 18: SWIZZLE RUM PUNCH at Cabana Bay’s Swizzle Lounge

The Christmas season is our absolute favorite time of the year. Growing up, one of the little things I loved most was getting an Advent calendar and counting down the days until Santa would be coming down the chimney. As I grew older, I had to leave Advent calendars in the rear view mirror,* but I still miss that daily countdown building anticipation to the big day. So, we’re going to start a virtual Advent calendar here at TouringPlans. For 2022, we are going to countdown our favorite drinks at Walt Disney World and the Universal Orlando Resort.

Criteria: Drinks can be alcoholic or nonalcoholic. Drinks can come from any venue on the property. Bonus points are awarded for the atmosphere where the drink is served. Any drink with glow cubes is immediately disqualified. Ready? Let’s go!

The Drink – Swizzle Rum Punch
Location – Swizzle Lounge at Cabana Bay Beach Resort

SWIZZLE RUM PUNCH – Ingredients: Cruzan Single Barrel Rum, Bacardi Pineapple Rum, banana liquor, blackberry brandy, fruit juices, and a splash of 151.

If you’re like us, you enjoy an adult beverage on occasion. It’s fair to say that until Cabana Bay, bars in Value Resorts were – at best – lacking. Considering families cooped up in those small rooms for a week probably need a drink more than anyone, this is scandalous. In fact, we even poked a little fun at how poor the options are with the article Worst Idea Ever: Value Resort Bar Crawl.

Cabana Bay has THREE great bars, including the incredible retro-themed Swizzle Lounge located directly in the lobby. For our drink today we are choosing the Swizzle Rum Punch. Note the themed swizzle sticks.

Themed swizzle sticks AND themed napkins? Pinch me I’ve gone to Heaven.

During Halloween Horror Night’s season, Swizzle Lounge gets some added decoration and some limited time offerings.

For the Christmas season it is likely to also see Swizzle Lounge taking part in Cabana Bay’s Holiday Beer Crawl. Guests purchasing a drink at all four of Cabana Bay’s bars will get a beer of their choice as a “prize” (let’s face it, we’re all winners in a bar crawl.)
