Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King follows the familiar Disney Cruise Line strategy of wrapping a familiar story around dinner service, using entertainment to distract from the fact you're eating the same food prepared at the same time for eight hundred other guests.
To Disney’s credit, this mostly works. The room is attractive, the music is strong, and The Lion King is one of the few Disney titles popular enough with everyone to survive this kind of treatment. It beats Arendelle on the Disney Wish, that's for sure.
The dishes, "inspired by" African cuisine, tend to be familar first and distinctive second, which is probably the correct business decision, even if it limits how authentic the meal can be.
