Disney's Hollywood Studios Touring Plans
Because Hollywood Studios offers fewer attractions, touring isn't as complicated as at Magic Kingdom or Epcot. Most Disney's Hollywood Studios rides and shows are oriented to the entire family, eliminating disagreements on how to spend the day. Whereas in Magic Kingdom Mom and Dad want to see The Hall of Presidents, Big Sis is revved to ride Space Mountain, and the preschool twins are clamoring for Dumbo the Flying Elephant, at Hollywood Studios the whole family can pretty much tour together.
Since there are fewer attractions, crowds are more concentrated at Disney's Hollywood Studios. If a line seems unusually long, ask an attendant what the estimated wait is. If it exceeds your tolerance, retry the attraction while Indiana Jones is in progress or during a parade or special event. These draw people away from the lines.

Touring Plans for Parents with Small Children
We developed many of these plans when preparing to visit the parks with our own children (ages 2 through 8). Most plans offer a mid-day break of at least three hours back at your hotel. It's debatable whether the kids will need the nap more than you, but you'll thank us later, we promise.
Touring Plans for Parents with Tweens
These plans are designed for children ages 8 to 12. They include every attraction rated three stars and higher by this age group, and they set aside ample time for lunch and dinner.
Touring Plans for Adults
The one-day plans are designed for adults and teens wishing to see as much of the park as possible in a single day.
Touring Plans for Seniors
We offer touring plans specifically designed for seniors that take walking distances and attraction ratings from this group into account. If you like to get to the park early, virtually all of the plans designed to start at park opening are also designed to work during Early Theme Park Entry.
Touring Plans for The Whole Family
These Touring Plans are designed for The Whole Family, which may include small children, tweens, teens, and seniors.

Which Hollywood Studios Touring Plan Is Right For You?
If your party consists of teens or teens and adults, start with the adult touring plans. Teens and adults almost always rate an attraction within one-half a star on our five-star scale, and the touring plans for both groups would be essentially the same.
We also offer a plan for families with children of all different ages, from pre-school through teens. This "Happy Family" touring plan allow the older children to separate (briefly) from the parents to ride roller coasters, before meeting up with the rest of the family again. We've also got touring plans for Disney Cruise guests, designed to cover the highlights of the park in a one-day shore excursion. Finally, if you don't see a plan that covers your needs, drop us a line and make a suggestion.
Incorporating FastPass+ (FP+) into your Hollywood Studios Touring
Note that the majority of our Touring Plans make use of Disney World’s FastPass+ system. For each plan, we tell you which FastPass times make the most sense for you family.
You can find more Hollywood Studios-specific FP+ information on our Hollywood Studios FastPass+ Advice and Tips page. Check there for the answers to questions like:
What FastPasses should I get for Hollywood Studios?
The most commonly needed FastPass+ selections in our Hollywood Studios Touring Plans are:
What about Toy Story Land?
Toy Story Land opened at Hollywood Studios during summer 2018. All three Toy Story Land attractions are in the same FastPass+ tier. This limits you to one advance FastPass+ reservation for the three attractions (Toy Story Mania, Slinky Dog Dash, and Alien Swirling Saucers). Which one is the best FastPass+ choice? Toy Story Mania is the only attraction in Toy Story Land that appeals to all age groups, so it appears in more of our touring plans. As noted above, Slinky Dog Dash is a mild roller coaster designed for small children. It appears in touring plans for parents and for seniors touring with grandchildren. Alien Swirling Saucers appears only in touring plans for parents.
If you plan on riding two or more Toy Story Land attractions, you'll only be able to get an advance FastPass+ reservation for one of them. The best strategy to avoid long lines in Toy Story Land is to arrive at park opening and head straight for the attractions you don't have FastPass+ reservations for. For example, if you're able to get FastPass+ reservations for Toy Story Mania, then head to Slinky Dog Dash as soon as the park opens. Next, if the waits aren't too bad, ride Alien Swirling Saucers. Ride Toy Story Mania later with your FastPass.
If you can't get FastPass+ reservations for any Toy Story Land attraction, try riding during dinner, or in the last 90 minutes the park is open. Be aware that the wait times shown on the signs outside the rides often overestimate how long you'll wait in line in the evening.
Which rides don’t usually need Hollywood Studios FastPasses?
These Hollywood Studios attractions never require FastPass+ in our touring plans:
- Beauty and the Beast - Live on Stage
- For the First Time in Forever - A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration
- Muppet*Vision 3D
- Voyage of the Little Mermaid
- Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
Most of the Studios' shows never require FastPass+ in our touring plans. Why? The touring plan software does a good job of getting you to the show at least 15 minutes in advance. When your touring plan gets you to a show 15 minutes in advance, you'll almost always be able to get in to see that performance. And the worst case in most scenarios is that you'll only have to wait until the next show time.
If you're concerned about getting a day-of FastPass+ for Fantasmic!, consider the Fantasmic! Dining Package, which we think is a good option for families who are already planning to have a sit-down dinner and catch a performance of Fantasmic!.
