Summary
This is a relaxing, festive place, but it’s not always worth the wait (especially if it’s 2 hours, which it’s been known to be). This place is wildly popular with Jimmy Buffett fans, who stand in line just to get on the wait list, so they can stand in line some more and wait for a table. The atmosphere, though, is like a taste of the beach without having to travel to the coast.
The food is a mix of Floridian and Caribbean, so expect lots of seafood and Jamaican seasoning. The food is good, but not good enough for non- Buffett fans to make a special trip. If the line for a table is outrageous, see if you can sidle up to the bar for a margarita and appetizers, which is just as much—if not more—fun than actually having a full meal. None of the entrées, including the cheeseburger, will make you think you’re in paradise, but fans don’t seem to care.
The Lone Palm Airport tiki bar across from the restaurant (home to Buffett’s seaplane, the Hemisphere Dancer) is a great place to sit back with a drink and people-watch on CityWalk.
Setting and Atmosphere
A boisterous tribute to the chief Parrot Head, this two-story dining space has many large-screen TVs playing Jimmy Buffett music videos and scenes from his live performances. The focal point is a volcano that erupts occasionally, spewing margarita mix instead of lava.
House Specialties
Cheeseburgers and margaritas, of course; volcano nachos; fish tacos; jambalaya; coconut shrimp; Key lime pie.
