Drawing on the groundbreaking makeup effects of the early Universal monster movies, the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience is a chance to transform your look into the ghoul of your dreams. But if you're willing to invest the time and money, it's certainly a one-of-a-kind look.

The makeup effects available are impressive and substantial. On our initial visit one morning, a reasonably tanned young adult was in the early stages of being transformed into Dracula. The first step looked to be a generous application of some sort of white makeup base all around the face, head, and neck.

After the makeup base was applied, the makeup artist used an insanely large number of brushes, sponges, and (we think) an airbrush sprayer to apply contrasting colors in every range of black and gray.

These effects added facial features like furrowed brows, dark eye circles, and elevated cheekbones that didn't exist five minutes before. No matter the cost, the staff doing the makeup effects knows what they're doing.
