Summary

The kitsch is fun, but the scenery is better than the food. Stick with simple fare like one of the burgers. And even then, go with the simpler burgers, not anything that sounds too fancy or that comes with unusual toppings.

The appetizer section of the menu is where the kitchen is most creative. Sometimes this works: A limited-time pimento cheese dip was done well. And sometimes the kitchen's experiments go the way of a 1950's mad scientist's: there was a smoked-fish-and-cream dip available one summer (In Florida!), which was not going to win you any friends in line at whatever ride you went on next. So even with the appetizers, stick to the simpler menu items that are hard to mess up, like onion rings.

Setting and Atmosphere

Walk through the doors of the Sci-Fi Dine-In and you'll find yourself transported back to a stage set built to look like a 1950's drive-in movie theater, at night.

Instead of tables and chairs, you're seated inside miniature classic cars, with two rows of bench seating.

All of the cars face the drive-in movie screen, which shows a nonstop collection of kitchy science fiction movie trailers and drive-in snack ads. It’s a hoot.

Other Recommendations

The milkshakes are expensive but worth it. In fact, they might be the safest thing to order for dessert!
