What should you know?

Inspired by the studio of its namesake, Today Cafe’s white-andorange color scheme captures the up-and-at-’em cheerfulness of NBC’s long-running Today show. Located near the park’s front gates, Today Cafe, complete with Al Roker and the gang watching over your meal from omnipresent TV screens, is a convenient spot to grab coffee and a breakfast pastry, but don’t dally here during rope drop if the lines wrap outside. It’s usually not as crowded as other restaurants for lunch. We like The Bulls & The Bears (beef brisket and Cheddar), Mulberry Street (Italian cold cuts and provolone), and Carnegie (pastrami and Swiss) sandwiches the best, especially when served hot with tangy potato salad. Portions aren’t huge, but the entrées are filling with unexpectedly elevated ingredients, such as porchetta and prosciutto. Be sure to save room for a dessert from the tempting pastry trays; the green matcha tea cream puff is deliciously airy, without too much sugar, and pairs well with an iced nitro coffee.
