At a Glance

The largest, most complex, and most detailed attraction that Disney or Universal has ever done, Battle at the Ministry is set to redefine what it means to be a "super-headliner" theme park attraction.

The ride's premise is that you're in the Ministry for the trial of Dolores Umbridge. Harry, Hermione, and Ron are there with you, when something goes wrong. As you give chase to Dolores through the Ministry, you'll find familar friends ... and foes.

The ride vehicle is a 14-passenger "elevator" that sits on the end of a robotic arm. The arm itself is the thing that rides the roller-coaster track.

That robotic arm is used to lift, dip, and spin your ride vehicle as you give chase through the ride. You zoom in and out of scenes that are rendered on screens and in large, three-dimensional sets.

If you've experienced other Harry Potter attractions at Universal Orlando Resort, Battle at the Ministry is most similar to Forbidden Journey at Islands of Adventure, though on a much larger, more detailed scale.

As the park's most popular attraction, expect very long lines from the moment Epic Universe opens. The ride often opens to all guests at the start of (or during) the 60-minute Early Park Admission period, allowing anyone to join the queue (and ride, if the attraction is running) before the park officially opens.

The queue for Battle at the Ministry is reportedly long enough to hold four hours' worth of people. And it's filled with top-notch props, from talking paintings to surprise detours into Ministry offices and more.

By itself the queue for the ride is a fantastic piece of theme park engineering. Even if you don't want to ride, we think everyone should walk through the line. Honest to God, whoever did the tile work here deserves their own THEA award.
