Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta Information: Rooms, Pools, Dining, and More

Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta Overview

Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta sits near the front entrance of the Tokyo DisneySea theme park. The hotel is sometimes marketed as the only Disney hotel in the world that sits entirely inside a Disney park. While that's not exactly true (the hotel's main entrance is not located inside DisneySea), we'll give them a pass because the majority of the hotel is located inside DisneySea. The exterior is heavily themed after Portofino in Italy. MiraCosta is hands down the most extravagantly themed Disney hotel in the world. Its luxurious guest rooms also have an Italian theme with some rooms featuring Disney character constellations on the ceiling, and murals of DisneySea's Mediterranean Harbor on the walls. Other rooms feature ornate Venetian designs. Walking time to Tokyo DisneySea is only a few minutes thanks to an entrance to the park located just outside of the lobby. The Tokyo Disney Resort Line - Tokyo DisneySea Station (aka the monorail), is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The Tokyo Disney Resort Line offers transportation to Tokyo Disneyland, Ikspiari and the JR Maihama Station (where you can catch a train to the city), and Bayside Station (where all non-Disney on-site hotels are located).

MiraCosta's lobby

Rack rates for MiraCosta range from around $500 USD for standard view rooms, to more than $3000 USD for a suite. Since Hotel MiraCosta is inside DisneySea, any room you reserve that promises a theme park view will offer an incredible vantage of the park.

The official Tokyo Disney Resort hotels can be booked on the Tokyo Disney Resort Online Reservation & Tickets website, which is in full English. Please note that the official TDR hotels sell out extremely fast, sometimes as soon as the reservation window opens, which is 9 AM (JST), five months before your arrival date. When your reservation window opens, be ready and waiting at your computer.

Happy Entry tickets are given to Hotel MiraCosta guests when they purchase park tickets from the hotel.

Early Entry for Hotel MiraCosta Guests

Guests at Hotel MiraCosta can enjoy a perk called "Happy Entry." This allows hotel guests to enter either Tokyo Disneyland or Tokyo DisneySea 15 minutes early. Few attractions are open during this time, but it allows you to skip the massive lines that form outside the parks before they open for the day. It will also let you get a huge head start to your first destination. If you want to ride Journey to the Center of the Earth in DisneySea (or any other high demand attraction) with little to no wait, Happy Entry will give you a perfect chance to do so.

Other Hotel MiraCosta Guest Perks

Guests staying at any of the official Tokyo Disney Resort hotels are given free tickets to use the Disney Resort Line that are valid for the length of their stay. See our Tokyo Disney Resort Transportation page for more information on the Tokyo Disney Resort Line. Hotel guests are also guaranteed entry to Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, even on days when the parks are extremely busy and attendance is restricted. Hotel MiraCosta also has an exclusive entrance from hotel guests. Located just off of the lobby, this entrance allows hotel guests to skip the long line at the main entrance that form before the park opens for the day.

Hotel MiraCosta's Rooms

Room amenities include HDTV, mini-refrigerators, hot water pot (with instant coffee and tea), safes large enough for laptops, and wireless Internet connections. In your room's bathroom you'll find shampoo, soap, and conditioner in nicely themed bottles that you're allowed to keep after you check out, as well as a toiletry accessory kit containing toothbrushes, toothpaste, hair comb, cotton swabs, and more. The nightstand between the two beds has a telephone and alarm clock. Rooms also contain a closet with hangers, an iron with ironing board, and enough room to store a few pieces of luggage.

MiraCosta bathrooms are made up of three parts, each of which are separated by doors that lock. To the left is a shower room with a bathtub, and both fixed and removable shower heads. The center is a sink area with a mirror, one sink, and limited counter space. To the right is a small room with a toilet. The toilet is a luxurious Japanese bidet that features heated seats and a stream of warm water to clean your rear end. If you don't wish to use any of these extra bidet features, you can simply flush it with the lever attached to the toilet itself. If you do want to try out the bidet, it's controlled by a panel with buttons.

Some rooms offer stunning views of Tokyo DisneySea.

Hotel MiraCosta Room Types

Tokyo Disney Resort categorizes all of MiraCosta's rooms based on the configuration of the room and what you see from inside the room.

Here's the system Disney uses:

  • Tuscany Side rooms include a full-sized bed and a trundle bed that can be stored under one of the other beds when not in use, or two full-sized beds and a trundle bed. Tuscany rooms with three full beds are also available for an additional charge. Most Tuscany Side rooms have a view of the Aquasphere plaza at the entrance of Tokyo DisneySea, but some rooms may have a view of streets or one of the neighborhoods next to the Tokyo Disney Resort. Tuscany Side rooms sleep up to three people.
  • Venice Side rooms include a full-sized bed and a trundle bed, or two full beds and a trundle bed. Venice rooms with three full beds are also available for an additional charge. Views from Venice Side rooms look out in to the Palazzo Canals section of Tokyo DisneySea. Venice Side Superior Rooms and Venice Side Triple Rooms sleep up to three people. Venice Side Palazzo Patio Rooms sleep up to four people.
  • Porto Paradiso Side rooms have views of Mediterranean Harbor inside Tokyo DisneySea and are offered in eight different categories. While all of these room categories have views of the park, the difference is what kind of view you'll have. For example, in "Porto Paradiso Side Superior Room Partial View" your view of the park may be slightly blocked by an architectural feature (such as a bell tower or an ornament) while a "Porto Paradiso Side Superior Room Harbor View" room will offer completely unblocked views of Mediterranean Harbor and DisneySea's icon, Mount Prometheus. Some Porto Paradiso Side rooms sleep 1 to 3 people, while others sleep 1 to 4.
  • Speciale Rooms & Suites are available for those wanting the most lavish accommodations Tokyo Disney Resort can offer. Some of the Speciale rooms feature large balconies that look out on to the park. They're ornately decorated, offer the best views of Mount Prometheus and Tokyo DisneySea, and can cost a whopping $5000 USD and up per night. Most suites sleep 1 to 2 guests, but others sleep 1 to 3, and 1 to 4.

Restaurants and Dining at Hotel MiraCosta

Hotel MiraCosta has two full-service restaurants, and one lounge. If none of these establishments meet your needs you can take short Disney Resort Line ride to Ikspari and eat at any one of its restaurants of varying quality and prices.

Oceano

Oceano is a buffet with views of Mediterranean Harbor in Tokyo DisneySea. The buffet serves everything from meat dishes, noodles, curry, fish, salads, fresh fruit, and more. There’s also a large variety of delicious desserts. Even though the price is around ¥3000 per a person, you’re getting a great bang for your buck here because the buffet is all you can eat. Besides your stomach, the only other limit is time. Each party is given 120 minutes to finish their meal. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are available. For lunch and dinner, non-buffet entrees and meals are available as well.

Silk Road Garden

Silk Road Garden offers Chinese cuisine, and artwork showing Marco Polo’s journey from Italy to China. It's pricey (around $40 to $60 USD per a plate) but perfect if you're looking for a fine dining experience.

BellaVista Lounge

BellaVista Lounge is located near MiraCosta's lobby. Here you can enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The lounge also offers views of Mediterranean Harbor in Tokyo DisneySea.

Shopping at Hotel MiraCosta

MiraCosta's gift shop is MickeyAngelo Gifts and sits just off the lobby. As you'd expect from a Disney gift shop, MickeyAngelo Gifts has a decent collection of souvenirs ranging from small trinkets (such as keychains and pens) to shirts and Disney princess items. Prices for these items are what you'd pay in the theme parks. MickeyAngelo Gifts also offers the mega popular Tokyo Disney-branded cookies, chocolate, coffee tins, and similar items.
