Summary

With a large selection of burgers and beers, NBC Sports Grill & Brew is the go-to place at Universal to catch the latest game. The menu is surprisingly deep, and the open kitchen concept allows you to see the chefs in action. Beer lovers will be drawn to the large variety of selections (more than 100), including two brewed exclusively for the restaurant by Florida Beer Company, and a fresh firkin-contained ale that’s handpumped from the cask.

As for the food, it’s decent but not especially memorable. The grilled chicken wings are underwhelming, but the steaks and fresh fish sandwich are unexpectedly excellent, and the monster soft pretzel (served on its own stand with mustard and queso) has a cult following. Otherwise, stick to burgers and beer. On Monday–Wednesday a limited bar bites menu, featuring drinks and appetizers but no entrées, is served.

Setting and Atmosphere

NBC Sports Grill & Brew has nearly 100 big-screen TVs, so guests will have no problem ignoring their tablemates to watch the latest game. The decor is intended to evoke a luxury skybox (though it’s more like sports bar industrial with dark concrete floors and exposed ductwork ceilings painted black), and the central show kitchen contains a signature open-flame kettle grill. Sadly, the giant steel fermenting tanks are only for show, as no brewing takes place on the premises. Bonus: Some dining tables are playable games (such as Foosball) with glass tops for the food. The exterior is distinguished by a supersize video screen that broadcasts games to all of CityWalk; during major events (like the Olympics), bleachers may be erected outside for alfresco viewing.

House Specialties

Nachos, wraps, grilled wings, flatbreads, salads, ribs, steaks, and burgers.
