What should you know?

Another Patina Group eatery from überchef Joachim Splichal, Tortilla Jo’s is upscale Mexican with a culinary twist. You can customize any taco or burrito. The eclectic, hybrid menu (and the loosey-goosey crowd) may be too much for the kids, but adults will appreciate a shot of Sauza Silver tequila and a tall glass of Corona beer, complete with a lime wedge. Strolling mariachi musicians fill the dining room and bar with foot-stomping traditional Mexican music.

What’s it like inside?

Old Mexico meets California modern. Mexican touchstones such as glazed tiles; thick, crude glass; and wrought iron accent an open dining room with modern, eclectic touches. You can grab a quick bite at the taqueria, and the bartender pours from a huge selection of more than 100 premium and super-premium tequilas at an outdoor cantina. The place goes crazy on the weekends, so gird yourself for a raucous, booze-shooting, beer-chasing good time.

What are the specialties?

Start with guacamole made fresh at your table. For an entrée, any one of the gigantic burritos, especially the signature Fajita Burrito, are good.
