Be Our Guest has been the most popular restaurant in Walt Disney World since it opened in 2012. Disney has tried to meet that demand in several ways, most notably switching to a common fixed-price menu for both lunch and dinner. These changes, especially the fixed-price menu, have steadily chipped away at Be Our Guest’s survey ratings; it was Below Average for several years, according to readers, and now it’s firmly in the Do Not Visit range. The menu is heavy and expensive, it lacks enough choices to justify the cost, and it takes far too long to finish the meal. If you’re looking for good food at comparable prices, Liberty Tree Tavern or Jungle Navigation Co. Ltd. Skipper Canteen is a better choice for lunch and dinner. For a quick lunch, go to Columbia Harbour House, which is usually the highest-rated quick service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom.

What’s it like inside?

Be Our Guest re-creates Beast’s Castle from Beauty & the Beast with three themed rooms: the Grand Ballroom, the mysterious West Wing, and the pretty Castle Gallery. The rooms can fit up to 550 guests at a time, which means lots of noise. The lights are dimmed at lunch and dinner, which can be a nice break from the Florida sun.

What are the specialties?

French onion soup or charcuterie plate appetizers, roasted pork tenderloin with seasonal vegetables as an entrée.
