Summary
Bright and clean, though a bit too big to be cozy, Amatista is the main table-service restaurant at Sapphire Falls and caters to families and conventioneers by serving comfort food favorites with an abundance of Caribbean creativity. We love the jerk-seasoned chicken wings, flaky empanadas, conch chowder, and juicy Angus burger. Ordering breakfast à la carte quickly adds up, so if you want more than a muffin, spring for the buffet (when available). Service, like that on the actual islands, is friendly but inconsistent; at lunch you may have the place all to yourself, but don’t count on a quick dinner here if you’re on a tight schedule.
Setting and Atmosphere
A large, sunny room on Sapphire Falls Resort’s lower level features an exhibition kitchen and indoor–outdoor seating with a view of the hotel’s lagoon. Seating is in the open main area or one of the private dining rooms.
House Specialties
Buffet breakfast with waffles and smoked salmon; rotisserie chicken, flatbreads, and sandwiches for lunch; Caribbean seafood paella, chargrilled steak, and vegan curry for dinner.
