Description And Comments

Built on the former Tower of Terror, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! is the same high-intensity thrill ride as before. What is very different, however, are the visual and audio effects. Now, guests hear classic rock/pop songs from the Guardians of the Galaxy film soundtrack, and experience one of six drop sequences (meaning the ride should be different the first few times you ride it). The ride itself is shorter, faster and more intense than Tower of Terror was, but it's not a huge change. If you could handle Tower of Terror, you'll be able to handle this.

The building serves as the fortress of the mysterious, and nefarious, Collector—a man who accumulates unique items and species from around the universe. Included in the collection are artifacts Disney theme parks fans will recognize like the former Abominable Snowman (aka Harold) from Disneyland's Matterhorn and Epcot's Figment. The cast members inside the fortress refer to humans as "Terrans." They're secretly unhappy to be employed by The Collector, but act overenthusiastic when they're on camera. When cameras aren't around they complain about low pay and long hours (seriously).

In the queue you'll eventually come upon an impressive Rocket Raccoon animatronic. He has broken free from his cage and he needs your help freeing the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy.

During the Halloween season, the ride transforms in to Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark. New music and special effects are used for this spooky version. You should know that Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark only happens, well... after dark. The regular Mission: Breakout runs during the day, but around 5 PM the attraction changes over to the Halloween version.
