Summary

Though we must admit our expectations weren’t too high for this Hard Rock venture, we were pleasantly surprised with the food and service here. Though expensive, the food is actually quite good, and the setting is pretty fun. Brave and/or crazy souls can take part in the Kitchen Sink Challenge, which consists of eating the burger, a pound of fries, a fried pickle, and the humongous Kitchen Sink Cake within a 30-minute time limit (advance reservations required). If dinner is a little out of your price range but you still want the experience, visit at lunchtime or go for the family-style breakfast, which includes pancakes or French toast, plus scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, and cinnamon rolls.

Setting and Atmosphere

With the appearance of a spacious kitchen in a rock megastar’s mansion, The Kitchen features walls adorned with culinary-themed memorabilia from the Hard Rock Hotel’s many celebrity guests. A colorful “kids’ crib” adorned with beanbag chairs and TVs allows the adults to eat in peace.

House Specialties

Breakfast choices include eggs Benedict, spinach-and-sausage frittata, and custom omelets. The lunch menu has salads, burgers, flatbreads, three-cheese mac and cheese, and chicken potpie. At dinner, grilled Antarctic salmon, filet mignon, shrimp penne, and stir-fried rice cauliflower are served. A gluten-free menu is available.

Other Recommendations

Rock stars occasionally visit to cook their specialties at the Chef’s Table, so call ahead to see if any rock stars will be in the kitchen—you may find yourself having dinner with Joan Jett or Bob Seger. Signed aprons and rock memorabilia hang on the walls.
