Downtown Disney Overview

Downtown Disney, verdant and landscaped by day, pops alive with neon and glitter at night. The complex offers specialty shopping, restaurants, and bowling. Many of the restaurants offer entertainment in addition to dining, including Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. Splitsville is a 40,000 square foot luxury bowling alley and restaurant. Other restaurant options include the Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria, and Tortilla Jo’s Mexican restaurant. Starbucks (located near World of Disney and the tram loading/unloading zone) serve all the chain’s beverages and sandwiches and offer free Wi-Fi, phone charging stations, and full loyalty card benefits. Earl of Sandwich offers tasty sandwiches and is the most affordable place to eat on property. The best ice cream in all of Disneyland Resort can be found at Salt & Straw.

If you’re not hungry, there’s always shopping to keep you occupied. A 40,000-square-foot World of Disney store, the second largest on the planet, anchors the shopping scene. Cosmetics are available at Sephora. For an artistic memento, WonderGround Gallery showcases edgy (and expensive) reinterpretations of classic Disney images, often signed by their creators. The LEGO Store features interactive play tables with LEGO bricks and life-size statues of Disney characters made entirely of LEGOs. The VOID is home to the extra charge Star Wars: Secrets of the Empire VR experience.

Getting Oriented

Downtown Disney is laid out in a straight line beginning West near Disneyland Hotel and ending East at the esplanade between Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Downtown Disney Parking

You can park for free for up to 15 minutes. Guests receive 3 hours of parking in the Downtown Disney parking lot with a single minimum purchase of $20 at any shop, or restaurant (including kiosks), in Downtown Disney. Guests who dine at a Downtown Disney table service restaurant receive 5 hours of free parking. Be sure to save your receipts to show the parking attendant on your way out. Additional hours cost $12 each every 30 minutes.

Downtown Disney Monorail Station

The monorail is a futuristic transportation ride that takes guests from Downtown Disney to Tomorrowland inside Disneyland. The wait to board is usually 15–25 minutes and a valid Disneyland ticket is required to enter.

The monorail does not provide service during the evening fireworks at Disneyland Park and ceases to bring guests into the park 30 minutes before closing.
